Services

The Learning Centre's services can be divided into four main areas:

Multimedia Services

The Centre has developed an excellent reputation as a provider of quality multimedia services to North Lanarkshire Council's Education Department. Work includes the development and production of Film, Web, CD ROM, and Audio services, as well as graphic design production. The demand for these services continues to grow and is likely to continue to do so in the future.


Products

A range of new and exciting learning products are all starting to become available for use in North Lanarkshire schools over the next year including e-assessment tools, online learning tutorials, video sequencing materials and new audio editing software and learning content. Rollout strategies are being developed and implemented for each of the new products, as well as strategies for the creation of further learning content to run on these new tools.


Specialist Training

The Learning Centre provides a wide range of training services, which will continue to expand and develop over the next year. Training provision covers areas such as: Film Craft; Video editing; Mindmapping software; Including multimedia in Powerpoint presentations; Creating & Editing Graphics & Digital photos; Photoshop - skills & tutorials; and using equipment such as Digital Cameras and scanners


Archives from the Classroom

The Learning Centre is based in Bellshill Academy where it provided a range of specialist services for over five years. These included: Supporting the use of ICT in the Classroom and with extra curricular activities; Staff training; Technical support and expertise; and Design services.
