The Learning Centre is currently seeking to fill the position of Part-time and Full-time Illustrator and Graphic Design Specialists.

The Learning Centre is North Lanarkshire Council's specialist multimedia production centre focussed upon developing new Multimedia resources for the Education Department, examples of the work undertaken in The Centre can be found in our portfolio www.thelearningcentre.org/portfolio.
We are currently seeking sessional/Freelance staff for an Illustrator and Graphic design Specialist position, competitive pay rates, up to £21.92/hour, dependant upon skills offered and roles performed by the candidate. Rehab candidates are accepted.
Candidates should have a flexible approach to their work and be able to work in a challenging and continually changing environment. They must be able to see a project from concept through to completion, dealing with clients and ensuring that their needs always remain at the core of all new developments.

As a core skill candidates must have a good background in design with an ability to apply a range of different styles and approaches in order to address the needs of a broad client base. They must be innovative and enthusiastic, with excellent communication skills and a desire to be a part of a forward thinking team in a rapidly changing working environment.
A good working knowledge of packages such as Illustrator and Photoshop is essential. Knowledge and understanding of packages such as Flash and Dreamweaver, as well as to be able to code in HTML, Javascript, PHP and XML, alongside Knowledge of film and the Mac platform would be an advantage.
